Foxes Island: Sauvignon Blanc
The fruit for this wine is grown on the very dry and stony site perched on the northern edge of an old river terrace at our “Old Ford Rd Vineyard” in the Awatere Valley, Marlborough. These low yielding vines enjoy the long, warm summer days with refreshingly cool nights that provide ideal conditions to fully ripen the fruit. The focused and intense natural fruit flavours are captured during the cool fermentation and enhanced by six months aging on the yeast lees to ensure a luscious wine of considerable depth. This expression of Marlborough is to be enjoyed with great food, or if you prefer some bottle development, the wine has the structure to age for two to three years.
Foxes Island: Pinot Noir
The fruit for this wine is grown on the two estate vineyards. Following de-stemming and an extended cold maceration the must is warmed and fermented in small open topped oak and stainless vessels. At dryness the wine is drained and the skins gently pressed following which the individual batches are matured in tight grained French oak barriques for 14 months. The final barrel selection is blended, egg white fined, and bottled unfiltered . Dominating the aromatics is a characteristic spiciness. The palate is generous and supple, yet with sufficient spine to encourage medium term cellaring.

This barrique-aged, single-vineyard Riserva was classified as one of the Top 100 wines world-wide by Wine Spectator! Exclusively from Sangiovese grapes grown at 400 meters above sea level, it is utterly superb: racy, fresh, ripe, a superb balancing act of spicy, gamey and mineral notes, huge structure, vivid marasca fruit, smooth texture, layered, lingering flavors.
Felsina: Fonalloro IGT (100% Sangiovese, barrique-aged)

Felsina: I Sistri IGT (100% Chardonnay, barrique aged)
This 100% Chardonnay, barrique-fermented and barrique-aged, was praised by Wine Spectator as “the best white in Tuscany” (Oct. 31, 2003)! Full body, delightful pineapple, cream, honey and mango aromas, structured and cellar-worthy. The wine’s name, “I Sistri” (“Sistra”: ancient musical instruments), was borrowed from an 1891 poem by one of Italy’s classic writers, Giovanni Pascoli (see image 2). At the time, Pascoli was living not far from the Poggiali estates, writing some of his finest lines on nature and the Tuscan countryside. The same poem has inspired the Pinot Noir from Castello di Farnetella, Nero di Nubi…
Fuligni: Rosso di Montalcino “Ginestreto” DOC
Brunello’s junior brethren, 100% Sangiovese from the Ginestreto cru; aged 6 to 9 months in 3.5-hl. barriques and 5/7-hl. tonneaux of medium-toasted Allier oak, then racked into Slavonian casks for further élevage before bottling. Shows layered depth and dimension.
Fuligni: Brunello di Montalcino DOCG
This 100% Sangiovese is aged partly in Slavonian oak barrels, partly in 5/7-hl. tonneaux of French oak, for three years, followed by a minimum one year in the bottle before release. Bursting at the seams with plum and cherry fruit sustained by firm, full structure and polished tannins.
Fuligni: Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG
Solely from the finest years. Élevage is also in French and Slavonian oak, for an additional year (totalling 4 yrs. in barrel and tonneaux). After over a year of bottle age, it shows remarkable elegance and complexity, and a beautiful bouquet of marasca cherries, tobacco and mint, with a lovely, long finish.
Final Cut: Shiraz
This Shiraz displays a deep rich red color and lifted aromas of violets, plums and mulberries. These characteristics are enhanced by complex notes of spice and white pepper with a reserved background of vanilla oak. Supple, generous, fleshy with excellent weight and mouthfeel, this elegant Shiraz displays ripe fine-grained tannins providing good structure.
