Domaine Serene: Pinot Noir “Yamhill Cuvee”
Yamhill Cuvée is loaded with ripe and spicy aromas of dark cherry plum, candied strawberry, sandalwood, beetroot, cola, anise, candle wax and allspice. The palate is full and supple, showing lots of ripe strawberry, dark cherry, sassafras, citrus and slight tarragon with an incredibly long and silky finish.

The powerful nose displays a complex array of blackberry, boysenberry, ripe blueberry, wild strawberry, caramel, pipe tobacco, black tea, and dried flowers. The rich and structured front palate show ripe blackberry, bing cherry, plum, cola, oak spice, and vanilla with fine-grained tannins and excellent length.

An effusive nose of violet, rose petal, black raspberry, ripe bing cherry, talc, bramble, pipe tobacoo, slight toast and earth. The palate displays intense black raspberry, tangy wild cherry, boysenberry, sage, violet, beet root, allspice and cinnamon with lithe and ample tannins on the finish.

Grace Vineyard is one of the seven vineyards of the Evenstad Estate located atop the Dundee Hills of Oregon.

David Bruce: Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
This wine was created by harvesting fruit from five vineyards in the Russian River Valley,Sonoma Coast and Alexander Valley regions.Traditional open-top tanks,and whole-berry fermentations were used combining “punched cap ” and gravity—fed “rack and return ” techniques to gently extract flavour from the grapes. This unique regime was developed to preserve delicate fruit and give a soft,supple feel in the finished wines. Limited barrel aging to twelve months accentuates the ripe cherry aromas and flavours with toasted oak and spice beneath.In the mouth the wine is firm yet velvety,with lingering flavours.While drinking nicely now,it should evolve gracefully for up to five years.

The Russian River Valley in Sonoma has a well deserved reputation for pinot noirs with ripe flavours and supple palates.Given to warm days and cool nights, pinot noir here achieves full flavour maturity without becoming overripe. This is a wine with luscious cherry fruit flavors and an enticing sense of richness in the mouth.Over twelve months aging in French oak barrels without being pumped,and the gentlest handling enroute to the bottle,has helped preserve subtle character and texture in the wine.While drinking beautifully now,it can support up to five years additional cellaring if desired.

Sourced from Rockburn’s Central Otago vineyards, the Devil’s Staircase Pinot Noir and Devil’s Staircase Pinot Gris take the willing down into the realm of decadence and Bacchanalian delights. Here, everything is pleasure spiced up with a bit of naughty. The unrelenting Central Otago environment tortures the vines whose twisted limbs produce a wine worth of absolution; strong a sensual with lashings of dark fruit, sinfully succulent and devilishly good. The flavours are practically immoral - the Pinot Noir full of black Doris plums, flame-toasted oak and bramble fruit crème brûlée, while the Pinot Gris screams of Nashi pears, mango and lemon zest. One sip of this ‘forbidden fruit’ will leave you with an insatiable desire for more.

David Bruce: Petite Syrah “Shell Creek Vineyard”
This vineyard is a marvel of consistency and quality. With a signature of blueberries in the nose, and hints of spices and mint beneath, the wine manages to be both powerful and refined. The limited extraction of tannin keeps the palate soft and approachable making it quite pleasant in its youth.The wide array of flavors match with foods that might overwhelm a simpler wine,but expect it to surprise you with versatility and pair with lighter meals just as well as hearty ones.The supple texture and balance in the wine should allow aging for up to five years, but is also drinking extremely well now.
Domus Aurea
Made with a blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, and 7% Cabernet Franc, the 2006 Domus Aurea has a dazzling ruby color and an earthy, balsamic nose with hints of orange zest and chocolate. Aged for 18 months in French oak and another 18 months in the bottle, the Domus is juicy, concentrated, and balanced, with fine, well-integrated tannins. Outstanding with grilled lamb, mushrooms and sweet red peppers.
